Position Overview

Braided Health is hiring for multiple software roles on our Engineering team, including a lead SW Engineer and SW Developers.  These positions offer unique opportunities to directly develop and architect our technical solutions, laying a solid foundation for our products and future team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the lead Engineer and Technical Architect for all product development, personally undertaking software design and coding.
  • Drive the creation of the engineering department’s vision, goals, and strategies, ensuring they are perfectly aligned with the company’s overarching mission.
  • Personally develop and implement crucial components of our software, ensuring high efficiency, scalability, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.
  • Establish and manage our development, testing, and production environments, selecting optimal tools and technologies to meet both current and future needs.
  • Engage directly with Product, Clinical Operations, and the executive team to define detailed product specifications and transform these into functional, high-quality software.
  • Strategically plan for the expansion of the engineering team, setting up robust recruitment and professional development processes.
  • Maintain expert-level knowledge on technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development.
  • Ensure high- efficiency, scalability, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA.

Required Technical Skills
  • 5-10+ years of hands-on software development experience and proven success in developing and deploying greenfield software solutions in 0 to 1 environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related technical field.
  • Strong expertise in backend systems, cloud infrastructures, and API integrations using modern programming languages.
  • Ability to manage technical teams and effectively recruit & build
  • Engineering teams. Preference for candidates with experience in health data systems (e.g., EMRs, adjudicated claims).
Required Soft Skills

Position Overview
The Data Scientist will perform data analyses, using multiple data sources, to drive population health strategy and direct member engagement for Dually-enrolled Medicare and Medicaid people receiving HCBS. The Data Scientist will integrate clinical, claims, financial and related demographic data to develop predictive models to enable innovative care pathways that improve patient outcomes and population health. The Data Scientist will employ data science, artificial intelligence, deep learning, advanced machine learning and traditional statistical techniques to address clinical care problems and business needs. You will play a crucial role in helping to ensure that our product roadmap continues to evolve toward products that are not only desirable, but feasible and viable as well. You will also contribute to our AI & NLP roadmap.

Key Responsibilities
A “day in the life” of a Data Scientist will almost certainly involve a lot of curiosity – being willing to talk to stakeholders and investigate the complexities of patient-level data. You’ll work directly with executive leadership to help define Braided’s analytics strategy to support clinical and financial outcomes. You will think critically about how we can isolate key outcomes within our data and build models showcasing approaches toward identifying treatment adherence, gaps in care, risk scoring, and more. And you will work very closely with the data engineering function to ensure that these are carried through into production.

The Data Scientist plays an important role in generating strategic insights across applications of data science:

  • Health Outcomes – examine the drivers of health outcomes; analyze opportunities for managing risk-based populations; evaluate the effectiveness of programs and interventions that aim to improve member outcomes.
  • Quality & Satisfaction – identify viable opportunities for improvement in clinical and care management processes that can lead to improved quality and satisfaction. Specifically, help to answer: “Where are opportunities to improve the quality of care and satisfaction of our members?”
  • Costs & Revenue – using health claims data and other sources, create models that predict cost trends, patterns of utilization,  and opportunities for improvement.

Required Technical Skills

  • Bachelor’s  degree in data science, AI/ML, statistics or related quantitative discipline (Advanced degree preferred)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in applied data analysis, interpretation, and presentation
